GALLIPOLIS — Ohio Valley Christian School volleyball teams will host “Digging Pink, Kicking Cancer” to raise money for the Gallia County Relay for Life Chapter.
All proceeds will benefit the Gallia County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. The event, in its seventh year, is open to the community.
The event will be 6 p.m. Nov. 12. The stands will be packed with pink as the attendees watch the junior high soccer team challenge their parents to a friendly competition and the varsity volleyball and soccer teams serve up an entertaining game.
In addition to the game, there will be a silent auction featuring themed baskets, and concessions offering hot dogs, chicken and noodles, and homemade ice cream, cookies and pies.
Teresa Ford, a Gallia County native and practicing attorney, will share with the public her recent battle with cancer and how ongoing research made a difference in her treatment.
OVCS will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. Admission is a voluntary cash donation at the gate. ACS provides cancer research, free educational materials, cancer support groups and financial programs to benefit cancer survivors and their caregivers.
The volleyball and soccer teams are asking people to join OVC in the fight to end cancer and increase cancer awareness by supporting “Digging Pink, Kicking Cancer” at the OVCS gymnasium.
