RACINE — Hill’s Automotive on Saturday will host the 11th annual Cruising Saturday Night Classic Car show on 3rd Street in downtown Racine.
A large turnout is expected for the event as many owners from the national car show circuit, as well as classic cars from all over the local area, will be in attendance, including many restored cars at Hill’s Automotive.
What started with a hobby by Marvin Hill when he began restoring 1955-57 Thunderbirds has grown into Hill’s Automotive. Located on Bashan Road in Racine, Hill and his crew have been restoring a variety of classic cars for over 35 years. Some of the top show cars in the nation have been restored at their facility and received “Best of Show,” “Grand National,” “Gold Medallion” and numerous other awards.
During the show, the general public is free to view the collected classics restored in all their luster. Nearly 45 trophies are expected to be presented that evening for a variety of categories.
Registration for entrants is open from 1-4 p.m. Saturday. All proceeds from the show will benefit local scholarship funds. Judging will take place between 3-5 p.m., with awards ceremonies to follow.
Sponsors for the show include local companies Hagerty, Rose’s Excavation, Forth’s Food Inc., Brenmar Construction and Home National Bank.
In addition, attendees can participate in 50/50 drawings, door prizes, and secure dash plaques offered to the first 50 entries.
Stay for concerts and amusement and enjoy craft and food vendors during Racine’s Party in the Park event, which is being held adjacent to the car show.
