POMEROY, Ohio — A fitting send-off for the reigning league champions.
The Meigs girls golf team — which captured the inaugural Tri-Valley Conference championship this fall — celebrated its Senior Night in style on Tuesday with a 17-shot victory over visiting Marietta in a non-conference dual at Meigs Golf Course.
The Lady Marauders posted five of the top six individual scores on the par 34 course en route to a winning tally of 189. The Lady Tigers ended the evening with a 206.
Meigs sophomore Kylee Robinson earned medalist honors with a 9-over par effort of 43, while senior Shalynn Mitchell was the overall runner-up with a 46.
Senior Lydia Edwards, sophomore Caitlin Cotterill and junior Mikayla Radcliffe all posted identical efforts of 50, with two of those completing the team score.
Sophomore Olivia Haggy also shot a 54, while senior Caroline Roush posted a 61 in exhibition play.
Paige Hartley paced Marietta with a 48, followed by Addi Hoffman with a 51 and Kesselyn Bigley with a 53. Makayla Welch completed the Orange and Black tally with a 54.
Addie Herb and Sarah Kinzel also fired matching scores of 68 for the guests.
