MASON, W. Va. — This time, the Rebels were on the right end of a score against some Lady Falcons.
A night after getting swept by the visiting Miller Falcons, South Gallia captured a marathon five-game victory over the host Wahama White Falcons on Tuesday night — as the Rebels won 25-21, 17-25, 17-25, 25-23 and 17-15 in a Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division tilt at Gary Clark Court.
While Wahama is steadily improving, as evidenced by its sweep of Southern on Monday, the Rebels rallied from a two-games-to-one deficit for Tuesday’s triumph to complete the season sweep.
South Gallia, which raised its overall record to 4-17, concluded TVC Hocking play at 4-12 — with season sweeps of the White Falcons and Belpre for its four wins.

Wahama, which swept Belpre this season including in five sets on Oct. 2, fell to 4-16 —and to 3-12 in the league.
South Gallia garnered the win in the first game with Wahama, turning an early 10-8 deficit into a 22-19 lead before going on to win 25-21.
In games two and three, the White Falcons finished off the Red and Gold by 25-17 counts, as the Rebels trailed 11-9 in the second set — and by as much as 17-11 and 21-16 in the third.
In the fourth game, Wahama jumped out to a 5-1 advantage, but the Rebels reeled off 20 of the next 34 points to take a 21-19 lead before finishing off the set 25-23.
Finally, in a back-and-forth final set, the Rebels led 8-6 before the White Falcons reversed the tide and led 13-12 with South Gallia calling a timeout.
The guests outscored Wahama 5-2 from there, and returned to Gallia County and across the Ohio River with a hard-fought win.
Rachal Colburn paced the Lady Rebels with nine kills and four aces, while Christine Griffith netted six kills and a solo block.
Erin Evans added three kills, as Kara McCormick served up two aces and Olivia Hornsby had a pair of assists.
