LAVALLETTE, W. Va. — The Blue Devils got a good one-on-one look at the Dragons.
That’s because the Gallia Academy High School golf team, on Wednesday at Creekside Golf Club, lost a dual match against the host Fairland Dragons — 165-174.
The Blue Devils and Dragons are both members of the Ohio Valley Conference , as Gallia Academy is the two-time defending OVC champion.
At Creekside, formerly know as Twin Silos, Gallia Academy sole senior Kaden Thomas captured match medalist honors with a smooth two-over-par 36.
Cooper Davis followed with a 42 for the Blue Devils, while Reece Thomas and Hobie Graham both shot 48.
The top four scores count towards the team total —as Elijah Blazer with a 52 and Wyatt Sipple with a 63 were Gallia Academy’s non-counting cards.
The Dragons demonstrated more consistency on the home course, paced by a pair of 39s by Reece Bellville and Clayton Thomas.
Mikhal Auxier added a 40, while Mason Manns fired a 47 for the final counting score.
Fairland’s other two individual tallies were a 48 from Connor Franklin and a 50 from Kyle Slone.
The Blue Devils will face another OVC opponent on Monday — when they travel to Chesapeake.
