FLORENCE, Ky. — University of Rio Grande junior Tyanna Petty had a strong performance at the Ohio University Invitational to win River States Conference Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for March 27-April 2.
The award was the second straight weekly honor for the Somerset, Ohio native.
Petty won first place in the high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters. She also competed in the javelin taking fourth place with a distance of 25.04 meters.
Petty also competed in a pair of track events, placing first in the 200 meters at 26.67 seconds and finishing third in the 100-Meter Hurdles with a time of 16.22.
Rio Grande has its next event April 7-8 at the Cumberlands Invitational.
