GALLIPOLIS — Gallia County sheriff’s deputies are on the lookout for a Gallipolis woman who has been missing since July 18.
According to Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning, a report dated July 24 indicates the family has not seen Jessica Barry, 32, for days and are growing concerned. Deputies spoke with the woman’s mother, Tammy Taylor, who stated that her daughter had gotten into a red or maroon car with some friends in the evening at approximately 7:30 p.m. July 18.
Barry has reportedly not made phone contact with the family and Taylor has found it unusual for Barry to have gone so long without reaching out to a family member. Family members have indicated several locations they felt Barry may have potentially gone. The sheriff said deputies have followed up with each tip but have found no sign of Barry as of yet.
“If anyone has information on Jessica, they should contact law enforcement or the family to make sure that she is OK,” Browning said.
Barry is considered a white female, 5 feet and 4 inches tall and weighs around 110 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing blue jean cutoff shorts with glitter on the back pockets. She was wearing flip-flops and wears glasses on the occasion. She has a pink overnight bag and a brown purse with gold designs on it. She has a butterfly tattoo on her left foot.
“We do take these very seriously and follow up with people she may know,” Browning said. “The report may be filed on a certain day and, usually with an adult, we do check to see where they are. We also hope to give them a little time to hopefully come back on their own as well. We are actively looking for her. Right now, we can’t say if there has been any foul play or anything involved with her disappearance, but we do want people to call our tip line if they have information. Her mother is worried about her and we’ll do what we can to help.”
Individuals with information in regard to the whereabouts of Barry are encouraged to call the Gallia Sheriff’s Office tip line at 740-446-6555.
