Honoring the last full measure

The weather was nearly perfect for the annual Gallipolis Memorial Day Parade on Monday as the streets of downtown were lined with those showing their respect to the men and women of the armed forces who gave the ultimate sacrifice. This year’s grand marshal of the parade was WWII veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Hershel “Woody” Williams who also spoke at the Memorial Day observance in City Park after the parade. More on the observance in tomorrow’s edition and online at www.mydailytribune.com. Pictured here, VFW 4464 Honor Guard presents the colors at the start of Monday’s parade. More parade photos appear inside and online.
