GALLIPOLIS — The French Art Colony, regional multi-art center, in Gallipolis, recently announced its 2017 multi-arts programming for youth.

The FAC will be offering a variety of classes in the fine and performing arts for children, 5 to 18 years-old, through the end of August. Children are invited to join each remaining Monday in July with the following camps: “Behind the Scenes” art and theatre camp, “Moana Art Camp”, and “Nature Kids Art Camp.” All July camps are open for ages 5-12 and range in time from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. In August, the FAC will offer a specialized class for students ages 8-18, interested in theatre. Taught by Executive Director Maggie Jackson, this acting intensive will focus on various acting techniques, improvisation, scene work and audition technique. Whether a veteran to the stage or just discovering what acting is all about, Jackson will guide each individual to develop their own unique skill, so they can take the stage.

Along with the themed camps, the French Art Colony will be teaching weekly classes in art, ballet and theatre on Tuesday evenings, beginning July 18 through August 22. Sign up for the full six week session at a discounted rate or drop into classes, when available, for $15 a class.

The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars, to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. All French Art Colony classes require advance registration, and have minimum and maximum registration requirements. Complete class details can be found at www.frenchartcolony.org , or by calling 740-446-3834.
