The University of Rio Grande Symphonic Band will present its annual spring concert Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m. in John W. Berry Performing Arts Theater under the direction of Mr. Gary Stewart, assistant professor of music and director of instrumental music.
The ensemble will perform arrangements such as “Along an English Countryside,” and “Adrenaline Engines.” The concert will feature Rio President Dr. Michelle Johnston performing a piece by Beethoven and senior Matthew Rinehart on the trombone during a Latin selection.
Members of the Symphonic Band include Rio music majors, area band directors and music educators, high school students and members of the community. The concert is free to the public. Anyone interested in more information about the concert can contact Gary Stewart at (740) 245-7087.
