GALLIPOLIS — Kindergarten registration for the 2017-18 academic year in the Gallia County Local School District will be held at the Gallia County Health Department on the following dates at the following times, April 24, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and April 25, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Call the central office for an appointment on or after April 3 by contacting Robin at (740) 379-9085 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All entering kindergarten students must participate in a screening unless the child is already being serviced in one of the district’s pre-school classrooms. School officials ask that parents or guardians accompany their child to the screening. They will need to bring the child’s social security card, shot records, birth certificate, TB skin test card and custody agreement (if applicable). The registration and screening process will take approximately 30 minutes to one hour.
The registration program will include activities for both parents and new students. Staff will be on hand to complete some screenings, as well as discuss and answer questions regarding the programs.
To be eligible for kindergarten, your child must be five years of age on or before August 1, 2016. A child must attend school if he or she is six years of age on or before August 1, 2016.
