Beth Sergent - Editor

About Beth Sergent:

Beth Sergent is a 14-year veteran of Ohio Valley Publishing, beginning her career as a staff writer at The Daily Sentinel in 2004 in Pomeroy, Ohio, before being transferred to the Point Pleasant Register in Point Pleasant, W.Va., in 2011, eventually becoming managing editor. In 2016, Sergent was promoted to editor of Ohio Valley Publishing which includes the Sentinel, Register, Gallipolis Daily Tribune and Sunday Times-Sentinel. Sergent graduated with honors from Marshall University with a degree in English (writing intensive) and is a native of Point Pleasant, W.Va. She has been recognized by the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors for her work as a columnist and feature writer. She enjoys kayaking and hiking in her spare time.

Bud Hunt - Regional VP / Group Publisher

About Bud Hunt:

Bud is a Regional Vice President and Group Publisher for AIM Media Midwest. Locally, his publications include the Gallipolis Daily Tribune, The Daily Sentinel in Pomeroy, and the Point Pleasant Register.

Hunt has an extensive background in media, holding senior management positions in several organizations. Prior to joining AIM Media Midwest, he was vice president of revenue at Rust Communications in Cape Girardeau, Mo. During his time with Rust, he also served as regional vice president, regional publisher and editor working with newspapers in southeast Missouri and west Tennessee.

He began his newspaper career with Park Communications, serving as advertising manager, editor and general manager of newspapers in Arkansas. He has won several awards for performance and editorial excellence during his career, as did newspapers under his guidance.

Hunt has a strong history of community involvement, including past chairman of the Board of Trustees for Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center, Kennett, Mo., past president Kennett Chamber of Commerce, past board member Kennett United Way, and past chairman, Cherokee District, Greater St. Louis Area Council of Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of the inaugural Missouri Seismic Safety Commission and was active in his local church, First United Methodist Church, Kennett.

During his newspaper career, Hunt served as a president of the Southeast Missouri Press Association and was a member of Inland Press Association’s inaugural Executive Program for Innovative Change (EPIC), a year-long study looking at innovation within the newspaper industry.

Hunt and wife Lee have two children, Adam Nichols and his wife, Andrea, who live in St. Charles, Mo., and Haylee and Justin Owens, who live in Cape Girardeau, Mo. They have one granddaughter, Aubrey Nichols. They are members of Grace United Methodist Church in Gallipolis.

Patricia Wamsley - Customer Service Representative

About Patricia Wamsley:

Patti Wamsley joined AIM Media Midwest in January 2015 with more than 23 years in sales and management. She started with AIM s as a customer service representative for the Point Pleasant Register and transitioned to the CSR position for the Gallipolis Daily Tribune. She also handles Ohio Valley Publishing's human resource issues.
Originally from Lawrence County, Patti moved to Gallia County to finish high school. That's where she met and married her husband. They have two grown children and two grandchildren with whom she enjoys spending extra time.

Dean Wright - News Reporter

About Dean Wright:

Dean Wright grew up near Indian Lake in Logan County of western Ohio. An Ohio University graduate, he spent several years in Athens becoming familiar with Ohio's Appalachian region.

Before starting with Ohio Valley Publishing, he spent several years as a hardscaper, freelance editor, tutor and writer. Now he spends his days beating the next deadline, saving the world one video game at a time and keeping his dog out of the trash.

Bryan Walters - Sports Editor

About Bryan Walters:

Bryan has been a sports writer since the 2000-01 school year, which included a three-year stint at the Jackson Times-Journal before joining the Ohio Valley Publishing staff in the fall of 2004.

He was named sports editor in April 2015.

A 1995 honors graduate of Jackson High School, Bryan has won several state awards for his journalistic efforts and also serves as a member of the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.

Bryan and his wife, Stacey, currently reside in Jackson, Ohio.
