Ellen M. Keller, age 71, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012, at the Regency Hospital in Columbus. She was born February 1, 1941, in Gallia County to the late Frank F. and Mary (Butcher) Miller. Ellen was an active member of the DAVA women’s auxiliary, past state commander, past commander of the DAVA Unit 45 and past state chaplain. She attended the Victory Lighthouse Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Keller of Jackson; son, Larry (Tammy) Keller, of Bidwell; daughters, Nancy (Gary) Haynes of Hallsville, and Vanessa (Barry) Greene, of Jackson; grandchildren, Christopher Keller, Jason Rowland, Elizabeth Rowland, Devon Rowland, Taylor Robinson, Tatum Campbell and Max Greene. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, and sisters, Anna Blackburn of Portsmouth, Beulah (James) Harding, of Lapeer, Mich.; brother, Robert (Norma) Miller of South Webster; special friends, Ray (Joyce) Hutchinson, Beverly Brady, Tammy (Brandon) Sigmon; sister-in-law Ruby Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Miller; and brothers-in-law, Russell Toland and Jake Blackburn.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral home with Rev. Rick Smith and Rev. Randolph Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Oak Hill. Friends may call Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. with a DAV service at 7:30 p.m.
