Forest E. Mullins, 74, of Gallipolis, died Saturday morning, December 22, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Born October 5, 1938, in Elizabeth Township, Lawrence County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carl Herman and Freda Cook Mullins.

In addition to his parents, Forest was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Mullins.

Forest was a retired contractor and developer. He was a United State Navy Veteran, a life member of the American Legion and a member of the Gallipolis Elks Lodge.

He is survived by, a son, Steve (Kathy) Mullins of Chillicothe; a daughter, Debbie (Steve) Caudill of Hilliard; five grandchildren, Matt (Angie) Shinkle, Erik Mullins, Sara Mullins, Jimmy Caudill and Meghan Caudill; brothers and sisters, Bob (Johnnie) Mullins, Sonny (Sherry) Mullins, Elmer (Judy) Mullins, John (Nancy) Mullins, Ron (Angie) Mullins, Wanda (Richard) Burton and Audrey McGinnis, all of Wheelersburg. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church, 5600 Junior Furnace-Powellsville Road, Franklin Furnace, Ohio, with Rev. Carl Beck officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home, 810 Second Ave. Gallipolis, Ohio on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services.
