Paul Wayne Sword, age 60, Bidwell, Ohio, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 17, 2012, at home with his three loving girls at his side. Born in Fleming, Kentucky, and reborn to the kingdom of God in 1970, he was an active member of Rodney Pike Church of God. Paul was first a family man and in his off hours became an ordained minister. He did his utmost to share God’s love with everyone he knew. He visited the sick, counseled the burdened, and served the Lord Jesus with all his heart. He was a die-hard Detroit Tigers and UK Wildcats fan. He was employed by the Southern Ohio Coal Company, Meigs Mine #2 for 28 years as an electrician.

Paul is survived by his wife, Debra, whom he followed to Detroit, wooed and wed in 1970; two daughters, Dawn (Joseph) Browning of Bidwell, Ohio, and Paula (Nathaniel) Orr of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Michael (Katelyn), Kayla, Ethan and great-grandson, Atticus.

He is also survived by five sisters, Wilann Boyd of Trenton, Michigan, Henrietta (Delbert) Anderson of McRoberts, Kentucky, Gaye Thompson of Jenkins, Kentucky, Delores (Roger) Hall of Mayking, Kentucky, and Leshia (Thurman) Fleming of Neon, Kentucky; and a multitude of family and close friends here in Southeastern Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Zula Irene Sword; two brothers, Duran Sword and Bobby Slone; and two dear sisters, Phyllis Jean Wright and Betty Nichols.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012, in the Rodney Pike Church of God, 440 State Route 850, Bidwell, Ohio, with Pastor Ron Bynum officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends and family may call at the church on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
