Doris L. Davis, 86, of Gallipolis, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Holzer Medical Center.

She was born May 8, 1926, in Guyan Twp., Crown City, Ohio to the late Charles and Lura Moore Williams. She graduated from Mercerville High School. She worked at the Gallipolis Clinic and retired from GDC after more than 40 years in medical records. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Gallipolis since April, 1953.

On October 25, 1946, in Marlboro, Ohio, she married Leo M. Davis and to this union were born two children, Tom and Debbie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo, 1987; daughter, Debbie Dillon, 2012; Sisters, Ethel Mae Williams, Lillian Sims and Melva Williams; Brothers, Raymond, Mack and Wilbur Williams.

Doris is survived by her son, Thomas (Marlene) Davis of Gallipolis; granddaughters, Melissa (Bryan) Workman, of Spotsylvania, Virginia and Misti (Jason) Minton, of Walker, Louisiana; great grandson, Derek, of Virginia and great granddaughter, Avery, of Louisiana. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Meredith (Pat) Davis; sisters-in-law, Loueva (Kennie) Ours and Ila Hineman of Crown City; several nieces and nephews.

Thank you to her “special” friends, old neighbors, church members and her family that came to visit her. Also to the nurses and aides at HMC and Assisted Living that provided good care for her.

In keeping with Doris’ wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alvis Pollard officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Mercerville. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Mike Davis, Matt Davis, Joe Hineman, David Hineman, Dean Hineman, and Charles Hineman.
