GALLIPOLIS — The Gallia County Board of Elections Office, located in the Gallia County Courthouse on Locust Street in Gallipolis, was abuzz with activity as election results started to pour in from precincts around the county. As each precinct’s information was presented, it was counted and verified by Board of Elections workers on site, as pictured above. Gallia County Board of Elections Director Jeff Halley, pictured right, spent several hours Tuesday night entering precinct information into a machine that counted Gallia County votes. A computer error necessitated the manual entry of approximately 1,000 absentee votes that could not be read by the machine, but all votes had been entered and accounted for by Wednesday morning. Official results will be forthcoming in the coming days and weeks.
