GALLIPOLIS — After interviews of 28 young ladies and 14 young gentlemen were conducted, a panel of judges selected the new Little Miss and Little Mister Gallia County for 2010 on the opening night of the 61st annual Gallia County Junior Fair.

Sydnee Runyon was crowned Little Miss Gallia County and Ty Rossiter was crowned Little Mister Gallia County at the conclusion of the annual contest held Monday evening at the Gallia County Fairgrounds.

Runyon is the daughter of Steve and Kim Runyon. Rossiter is the son of Wendell and Misty Rossiter.

The new royalty received crowns and sashes provided by Floral Fashions of Gallipolis. The Third Ave. establishment also supplied the royal chairs for the contest.

The Gallipolis Lions Club, sponsor of the annual contest, gave each winner a trophy.

Sparkle Supply of Gallipolis presented each winner with a $100 savings bond. Loan Central presented a cash award to each winner.

Josie Cremeans was the runnerup in the Little Miss Gallia County contest. She is the daughter of Nathan and Beth Cremeans.

Ashton Janey finished as the runnerup in the Little Mister Gallia County contest. Janey is the son of Brandon and Christine Janey.

Each runnerup received a trophy.

Master of ceremonies Jeff Fowler, a longtime Lions Club member and teacher at South Gallia High School, interviewed each candidate before turning the decision over to the judges.

Natalie Holmes, the 2009 Little Miss Gallia County, and Justin Howes, the reigning Little Mister Gallia County, were on hand to present the crowns and trophies to the winners and runnersup.

The Little Miss Gallia County contest has been held each year since 1954. The Little Mister contest began in 1955. The Lions Club has been the sponsor since the inception of each contest.
