Meigs (5-5) dropped their third consecutive game after a five game winning streak earlier in the season. The Lady Falcons (5-8) pulled off the late inning come back that had eluded them in previous contests in the early portion of the season.
Meigs scored two runs in the first inning, with Meri VanMeter and Tricia Smith coming into score. The Lady Marauders added another run in the third, with Tess Phelps scoring.
The Lady Falcons scored three in the bottom of the third to tie the game at three. Karista Ferguson, Kaula Young, and Kali Harris each crossed the plate for Wahama.
Meigs added their fourth and final run in the fifth inning, as Chandra Stanley knocked in Tricia Smith with an RBI ground out.
The Lady Falcons were down 4-3 going into the home half of the sixth inning. Lindsey Deem led off the sixth with a walk, and scored on an RBI single by Ferguson. With the score tied, Harris led off the seventh with a single, and courtesy runner Kelsey Billups scored the winning run.
Meigs was led in hits by Tricia Smith and Stanley with two hits each. VanMeter, Phelps, Shanalle Smith, Micki Barnes, and Julia Lantz each had one hit. Tricia Smith scored two runs, with VanMeter and Phelps each crossing the plate once. Stanley had two RBIs to lead the Lady Marauders.
Wahama was led in hits by Harris and Ferguson with two each. Taylor Hysell added the other Lady Falcons hit. Ferguson, Young, Harris, Billups, and Deem scored the Wahama runs.
Wahama host Point Pleasant at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, and Meigs travels to Southern on Friday.
