Lady Knights fall to Ravenswood in sectional tournament

SPENCER, W.Va. — The three-point shooting of Ravenswood was too much for the Point Pleasant Lady Knights (7-16) as they fell by a score of 69-27 in the sectional tournament opener.

Point Pleasant fell behind Ravenswood early in the contest and were unable to recover. Ravenswood led 21-6 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Knights scored only two points in the second quarter, as Ravenswood added 19 more to put the contest out of reach by the half. Ravenswood led 40-8 at the intermission.

Point Pleasant battled back in the third quarter, scoring 10 points, but Ravenswood again outscored the Lady Knights, as they put 11 points on the board in the period. Ravenswood outscored Point Pleasant 18-9 in the final period to win by a final of 69-27.

Point Pleasant was led in scoring by Ashley Templeton with 10 points. Andrea Porter added six points, Katie Bruner and Amanda Roush each score four points, Kohl Slone had two points, and Elizabeth Livingston had one point.

Ravenswood was led by Emily Rector with 25 points. Rebekah Samples scored 21 points, Hannah Murray had nine points, Makala Settlage had four points, Taylor Youell and Hannah Gurtis each scored three points, and Breanna Mahan and Sarah McMillan each had two points.

This was the final game for Point Pleasant seniors Cassandra Cook, Elizabeth Livingston, and JoAnne Errett.
