Lady Knights top Hannan, 65-22

ASHTON — The Point Pleasant Lady Knights (1-1) topped the Hannan Lady ‘Cats (0-2) 65-22 in the home opener for Hannan.

Point Pleasant jumped out to an early 12-0 lead before Hannan got on the board late in the first quarter. Point Pleasant lead 14-4 at the end of the first quarter. Andrea Porter led Point Pleasant in the first with five points, while Abby Bush had all four Hannan points.

Point Pleasant continued to set the pace of the game, adding an additional 16 points in the second quarter. Porter and Katie Brunner each had six points in the quarter. Hannan scored eight in the second quarter, with Bush scoring five.

Point Pleasant continued to increase their lead in the second half, scoring 19 and 16 points in the final two quarters of play, compared to the four and six scored by Hannan. Elizabeth Livingston scored seven of her nine points in the third quarter, while Brittany Edmonds scored all four Hannan points.

JoAnne Errett and Porter led the fourth quarter with six points each, while Edmonds again tallied all of the Lady ‘Cats points with six.

Early in the fourth quarter, Hannan’s leading scorer at the time with nine, Abby Bush left the game with what appeared to be a left ankle injury and did not return.

Point Pleasant remained strong throughout the contest, never trailing and scoring on several fast breaks.

Point Pleasant was led in scoring on the night by Porter with 21 points. Hannan was led by Edmonds with 11 points.

Point Pleasant hosts Herbert Hoover tonight at 7:30 p.m. Hannan’s next contest will be on Tuesday, with the game beginning at 6 p.m., as part of a girls-boys double header against OVCS.
