Wyman E. Sheets, 90, Gallipolis, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at his residence.

He was born May 25, 1919, in Mercerville, son of the late H. Clericus and Roma G. Lanier Sheets. Wyman was married to E. Daryle Halley Sheets on April 18, 1938 and she preceded him in death on March 15, 1994. He graduated from Mercerville High School, where he excelled in athletics. Wyman was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He owned Sheets Sohio Service at Second and Court St. for 40 years and retired in 1981.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. A. Keith and Sara Sheets of Gallipolis; three granddaughters, Liesl M. (Dr. Doug) Wright of Kingsport, TN, Kristin L. (Dr. Dan) Adams of Brentwood, TN and Eryn L. (Shannon) Staats of Ostrander, Ohio; seven great grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Grace and Louisa Wright, Nathan and Callie Adams, and Colin Staats.

Wyman was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Daryle Sheets, brothers, V. Dayton (Hazel) Sheets, Lester B. (Evelyn) Sheets, sisters, Rachel A. Sheets and Gladys P. (Rev. Charles) Lusher.

The Celebration of Life service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Kandi Nuce and Pastor Jim Lusher officiating. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service. There will be a military flag presentation by volunteers of area veteran’s lodges.
