Special meeting

GALLIPOLIS — Gallipolis City Board of Education will meet in special session at 5 p.m. Monday in the Gallia Academy High School library.

On the agenda are a public hearing on retaining the services of a retired employee, accepting resignations, approving change orders, approving district property fleet and liability insurance, employment of personnel and an executive session to consider the employment of a public employee.

IRONTON — Rumpke trash, recycling and yard waste services will occur as scheduled with no delays during the week of Independence Day for customers in Gallia, Meigs and Mason counties.

Holiday closing



GALLIPOLIS — Woodland Centers Inc. will close clinic locations in Gallia, Meigs and Jackson counties on Friday, July 3, to observe the Independence Day holiday.

Clinics will resume normal operations on Monday, July 6.

Emergency services can be accessed by calling (740) 446-5500 in Gallia County, or (800) 252-5554 from Meigs and Jackson counties.



Tournament slated



GALLIPOLIS — Generation Gallia’s first annual cornhole tournament is Saturday, July 18 in the Gallipolis City Park.

Cost is $20 for a team of two players. The tournament begins at 2 p.m., preceded by registration and practice at 1 p.m. Cash prizes will be given to first and second place winners. Double elimination is scheduled.

Sponsors of the event include Courtside Bar and Grill, Mike’s 218 Food Mart, Jividen Farm Equipment, The City Bark, Red’s Rollen Garage and O’Dell True Value Lumber.



Joint meeting



RIO GRANDE — Rio Grande Village Council and Board of Public Affairs will meet in joint session on Monday at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building to vote on a proposed contract with Triad Engineering.

GALLIPOLIS — The July 3 and Aug. 7 meetings of the Gallia County Family and Children First Council have been canceled.

The council’s next business meeting is Friday, Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. in the Gallia County Service Center, 499 Jackson Pike.
