Guilty pleas resolve court cases

GALLIPOLIS — Several cases were recently concluded in Gallia County Common Pleas Court after defendants entered guilty pleas.

Cases recently resolved include:

• Staci R. Vance, 38, 229 Bandy Road, Bidwell, was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine after she pled guilty to attempted forgery, a lesser offense than forgery for which she was initially charged.

She was further ordered to pay $120 restitution to Nancy J. Hamm, $304 restitution to TRS Recovery Services, and costs for judgment rendered.

• Terry R. Browning, 21, Point Pleasant, W.Va., was sentenced to 24 months community control after pleading guilty to one count possession of drugs.

He was further ordered to perform 500 hours of community service with all but 40 hours stayed, register with Ohio Employment Services, an evaluation by Spectrum Outreach Services, six months suspended license, and to pay costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.

• Blaine D. Halley, 53, 1626 McCormick Road, Gallipolis, was sentenced to 24 months community control after pleading guilty to one count possession of drugs.

He was further ordered to an evaluation by Spectrum Outreach Services, forfeit a gun to the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, and pay costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.

• Amanda Rodriguiz, 27, 988 Teens Run Road, Crown City, was sentenced to 24 months community control after she pled guilty to two counts forgery.

She was further ordered to pay $1,660 restitution to Ohio Valley Bank, perform 500 hours of community service with all but 60 hours stayed, register with Ohio Employment Services, an evaluation by Spectrum Outreach Services, and to pay costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.

Indictments recently unsealed include:

• Rudolph M. Daft, 29, 189 Daft Road, Gallipolis, has been charged with one count possession of drugs for allegedly obtaining, possessing, or using six Oxycodone tablets on or about March 5.

Daft pled not guilty to the charge and was released on his own recognizance under a $5,000 bond with an additional bond set at $1,000 ten percent secured.

His jury trial is scheduled for Oct. 27 at 9 a.m.
