GALIPOLIS — Among cases recently heard in Gallia County Common Pleas Court, three individuals were sentenced to prison time after being found guilty of community control violations
Cases recently resolved include:
• D. Dawn Stover, 30, 563 Jay Drive, Gallipolis, was sentenced to 11-months in prison after she was found guilty of community violations.
Violations include assaulting Kalee Terry on March 29 and testing .199 for alcohol.
Stover was placed on community control in February after she pled guilty to possession of drugs regarding three Percocets.
• Michael A. Saunders, 22, 3667 Bulaville Pike, Gallipolis, was sentenced to 11 months in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction after he was found guilty of multiple community control violations.
According to court records, violations include failure to notify his probation officer of contact with law enforcement, failure to register with Ohio Employment Services or verify employment, failure to report for office visits, failure to pay court costs and supervisory fees, and failure to successfully complete Spectrum.
Saunders was placed on community control after he pled guilty to breaking and entering. He and a co-defendant were apprehended by police in 2007 while in the process of depriving L&L Scrap Metal of several radiators.
• Antonio Maddox, 25, Columbus, was sentenced to 17 months in prison after he was found guilty of several community control violations.
Infractions include violating curfew in Belpre without permission, having contact with law enforcement without reporting it to his probation officer, and failing to complete GED work.
Maddox was placed on community control in October 2008 after he pled guilty to possessing six grams of crack cocaine.
Cases recently dismissed include:
• The case of Gary D. Arnold, 34, 48 Hubbard Ave., Gallipolis, has been dismissed, though the state plans to refile this matter at a later date. Arnold had been charged with two counts possession of drugs regarding two 10-milligram Oxycontin and 38 10-milligram Endocet and one count theft regarding the 38 Endocet pills.
