Ina G. Burris, 85, of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord, peacefully at her home on Monday, May 26, 2009.

She was born July 28, 1923, in Mason County, W.Va., a daughter to the late Thomas and Gertie Meek Persinger. She was a retired nurse aide from Critre Nursing Home in Lancaster, Ohio after 31 years of service, and a member of the Milestone Church, Apple Grove, W.Va.

Preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Shorty” Burris in 1969; one son, Hugh Ernest Burris; brothers, James, Earl, Lewis, Sheridan, William and Warren Persinger; sisters, Edna Steele her twin sister, and Mary Alice Persinger Hall; and daughter-in-law, Connie Burris

Survived by three sons, William “Tommy” and Corletta Burris of Gallipolis Ferry, Lawrence “Larry” Burris of Apple Grove, and Jona Earl and (Marlena) Burris of Gallipolis Ferry; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Milestone Church, Apple Grove, with Rev. David Washington officiating. Burial will be in the Beale Chapel Cemetery, Apple Grove. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Deal Funeral Home.
