GALLIPOLIS — Two area men were recently sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to charges of burglary and robbery in Gallia County Common Pleas Court.

• Michael D. Koella, 32, 849 Neighborhood Road, Gallipolis, was sentenced to two years of prison in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections after he pled guilty to one count of robbery.

Koella was initially arrested after he jumped from the Chillicothe Road bridge in Gallipolis and into the Chickamauga Creek while running from Gallipolis police officers shortly after depriving the Par Mar Exxon of $172 cash and a carton of cigarettes last September.

Koella was also ordered to pay $172 in restitution to the Par Mar along with costs for judgment rendered.

• James Leach, 30, Jackson, was sentenced to a pair of two-year prison sentences to run concurrently after he pled guilty in two separate court cases to one count of burglary and one count of illegal conveyance of drugs onto a detention facility.

Leach was initially charged with aggravated burglary for forcing entrance into the residence of Timothy Baker and assaulting him before taking several items. The conveyance charge stems from Leach transporting marijuana onto the grounds of the Gallia County Jail on Aug. 29.

He was further ordered to pay the rotary reparations fee and indigent fees along with the costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.

Cases recently dismissed include:

• The case of Gregory S. Unroe, 46, 237 Main St., Crown City, was dismissed for the reason that the state is waiting for lab results from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.

Unroe had been charged with aggravated robbery for allegedly breaking into a Crown City home and assaulting a female resident in a failed attempt to steal her prescription medication.

• The case of Clayton Nagle, Louisville, Ky., has been dismissed for the reason that his indictment was issued in 2002 and not served until 2009. Further, the state maintained that certain evidence and witnesses are not available at this time. He had been charged with three counts trafficking in drugs regarding less than two grams of crack cocaine.

• The case of Myisha Washington, 25, Dayton, has been dismissed for the reason that her co-defendant was convicted of possession of drugs. She had been charged with complicity for allegedly aiding and abetting Aurelius Edmonds Jr., 26, Dayton, in possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs regarding more than 50 grams of crack cocaine seized following a traffic stop on March 22, 2008.
