Vernon Ray Sims, 61, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 21, 1951, in Huntington, West Virginia, son of the late James Vernon and Clara A. Smith Sims. He was married to Debra “Debbie” Hartman Sims and she survives him.
In addition to his wife, Debbie Sims of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Vernon is survived by one son, Nathan R. Sims of Louisville, Kentucky; two sisters, Loretta (Ernie) Roush of Columbus, Ohio, and Brenda Sims of Gallipolis, Ohio; two brothers, David (Patty) Sims of Camden, Ohio, and James (Linda) Sims of Gallipolis, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service.
