Barbara A. Carter, 61, of Gallipolis, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord, on Monday, December 24, 2012, at the Abbyshire Place. She was born on January 9, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of the late Clyde Braden and Frances Davison Braden who survives her in Whitehall, Ohio.

Barb was a former Washington Elementary School Art Teacher and a member of the Gallipolis Christian Church. She was a graduate of Milford High School and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She attended the University of Cincinnati and Saint Louis Christian College in St. Louis, Missouri. Barb enjoyed family time and the arts.

Barb is survived by her husband, Roger D. Carter, whom she married on July 18, 1981, in Gallipolis, Ohio. She is also survived by her children — one son, Ryan (Amy) Carter of Gallipolis, and two daughters, Anne (Casey) Clary of Mercerville and Kerry (Justin) Dill of Southside, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Madison, Rylee, Caleb and Benjamin; one sister, Minnie Figart-Braden of Whitehall, Ohio; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Karen Carter of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Willis Funeral Home, with Minister Mike Lynn officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday December 28, 2012.
