Lois Denney, 76, Bidwell, went home to be with the Lord November 17, 2012, after a brief illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her great-grandchildren. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after serving for many years as the postmaster of the Rio Grande post office. She was a member of the French City Baptist Church for 40 years and a member of the Gallia County Senior Center. She was born April 18, 1936, to the late Bess (Banks) and Hargus Harris and is preceded in death by her 11 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Donald Denney; two daughters, Debora Wellington, Bidwell, and Denise (Dave) Rhoades, Lexington, Ohio; five grandchildren, Joshua and Andrea Wellington, Amanda (Wellington) Tobert, David, Jr., and Dustin Rhoades and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in the Cornerstone Church, State Route 850 and State Route 35 with John Wood presiding. Burial will follow in the Denney Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday and 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, is honored to handle the arrangements for the Denney Family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to: Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
