Probation violations net prison

GALLIPOLIS — An area resident was recently sentenced to prison time in Gallia County Common Pleas Court after being found guilty of probation violations.

• Michelle M. Harkins, 34, 1508 McCormick Road, Gallipolis, was sentenced to 28 months in prison after she was found to be guilty of community control violations in two separate criminal cases.

According to court records, Harkins pled guilty to complicity to burglary in a 2008 case as well as attempted illegal processing of a drug document in a 2003 court case.

She was found guilty of violations that include failure to verify employment or registration at the employment office as ordered, failure to report to her community control officer as ordered, failure to pay minimum monthly payments, failure to report for a Spectrum evaluation, failure to complete community service as ordered and an admitted injection of Oxycontin on Feb. 16.

Harkins was ordered to serve 17 months for complicity and 11 months for attempted illegal processing of a drug document; both sentences are to be served consecutively.

Other cases recently resolved include:

• Brian C. Lloyd, 25, Fairborn, was sentenced to two years in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections after he pled guilty to one count possession of drugs.

He was further ordered to pay $70 for chemical testing costs for identifying chemical substances, and his operator’s license was suspended for four years.

• Clifford A. Ball, 28, 1342 Neighborhood Road, Gallipolis, was sentenced to 24 months of community control after he pled guilty to one count of theft.

He was further ordered to pay $600 in restitution to Wal-Mart, an evaluation by Spectrum Outreach Center, register with Ohio Employment Services and pay costs of the prosecution for judgment rendered.

Cases recently dismissed include:

• The case of Charles E. Mullins, 25, 151 Upper River Road, Trailer 3, was dismissed for the reason that the alleged victim no longer wishes to pursue the matter. He had been charged with felonious assault.

• The case of Michael B. Myers, 43, 1016 Third Ave., Gallipolis, has been dismissed for the reason that the alleged victim no longer wishes to pursue the matter. He had been charged with domestic violence.
