Elaine Barnes, 67, of Crown City, went home to her Savior in heaven November 14, 2012.

She was born to the late Blaine and Alma Caldwell Sanders on May 16, 1945. She was a 1963 graduate of Hannan Trace High School. Elaine married Ron “Barney” Barnes on February 14, 1964, in Northup, Ohio, and he survives her. She was a member of Mercerville Baptist Church and attended Victory Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a member of Alley Cats Bowling League at Skylane Lanes. Elaine enjoyed bowling and yard sales.

Surviving are her husband, Ron “Barney” Barnes of Crown City; a son, Richard (Gracie Dotson) Barnes of Gallipolis; a daughter, Rhonda (Jim) McCarty of Crown City; grandsons, Ricky Barnes of Gallipolis and Travis McCarty of Crown City; brothers, Donovan Sanders of Gallipolis, Dillard (Luree) Sanders of Scottown, and Faron (Allison) Sanders of Gallipolis; sisters, Shirley Nolan of Vinton, Carolyn (Lockhart) Donnet of Gallipolis, Brenda (Larry) Burris of Vinton; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Elaine had a special pet “Presley”.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Queen.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Warner and Pastor George Holley, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, November 18, 2012, from 6-9 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Barnes, Travis McCarty, Alan Queen, Kevin Lockhart, Timmy Turner and Chad Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick Clary and Davey Lockhart.
