James E. Halley, 75, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the Holzer Senior Care Center.

He was born July 14, 1937, in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Loren R. and Lorena Maridel Saunders Halley. He was married to Rena Warren on November 23, 1954, in Northup, Ohio. James was a truck driver and retired from Gallia County Local Schools, having worked at Addaville and Cheshire Kyger. He was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Rena Halley of Gallipolis; a daughter, Kathy Lynn (Roy) Lee of Cimarron, New Mexico; two sons, James David (Kathy) Halley and Keith A. (Beth) Halley, both of Gallipolis; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Robert (Betty) Halley of Gallipolis.

James was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jeremy.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Willis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012.
