County-level races will draw voters’ attention Tuesday

GALLIA COUNTY — Voters throughout Gallia County will go to the polls on Tuesday to make their voices heard on a number of local races and issues. An overview of local issues was featured in Thursday’s edition of The Gallipolis Daily Tribune. The following is a roundup of the Gallia County-level races voters can expect to see on the ballot.

Gallia County Commission

Two Gallia County Commission races will appear on Tuesday’s ballot. The first is between Democrat (and Incumbent) Howard ‘Joe’ Foster and Republican ‘Coach’ Brent A. Saunders, and the second is between Democrat (and Incumbent) Lois M. Snyder and challenger Republican David K. Smith.

Gallia County Clerk of Courts

Democrat Belinda Burnett will challenge Republican (and Incumbent) Noreen M. Saunders for Gallia County Clerk of Courts.

Gallia County Treasurer

Three candidates are in the running for Tuesday’s Gallia County Treasurer’s race. They include Democrat Pam Riley, Republican (and Incumbent) Steve McGhee and Independent Gary Jarvis.

Unopposed Races

Unopposed races in this year’s election include Republican Brett A. Boothe for Gallia County Engineer; Republican Daniel H. Whiteley for Gallia County Coroner; Democrat Joseph R. Browning for Gallia County Sheriff; Democrat Jeff Adkins for Gallia County Prosecutor; and Republican J. Roger Walker for Gallia County Recorder.
