Ann Elizabeth Owens, 59, of Waterloo, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Community Hospice of Ashland. Ann was born June 22, 1953, as the daughter of late Glen and Sarah Bradshaw Owens.

Ann was a graduate of Symmes Valley High School and Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She was a member of Myrtle Tree Missionary Baptist Church in Arabia, Ohio, where she was a Sunday School teacher. Ann also sang along with her two sisters as the Myrtle Tree Trio. She was actively involved in 4-H for many years, as an advisor of the Waterloo Wranglers and President of the 4-H Committee. Ann taught for Symmes Valley Local Schools for over twenty years. She was also a member of the Ohio Education Association and an active member of the Waterloo Grange. She also worked with the Waterloo Wonder Memorial Fund and theWaterloo Senior Citizen Committee. Ann enjoyed working on the family farm, tending to her flowers, and being a very special part of the lives of her nieces and nephews.

Ann is survived by her two sisters, Margaret Owens, of Waterloo, and Ellen Owens, of Ashville, Ohio; and a brother, AJ (Angela) Owens of Thurman, Ohio. She is also survived by a half-brother, Gary (Georgia) Owens, of South Charleston, Ohio. Ann is survived by five nieces and nephews, including Teresa (Joe) Weidner, Jennifer Owens, Steven (Kristie) Owens, Christina (Jeff) Crabtree, and Andrew Owens. She is also survived by five great-nieces and -nephews: Skyla (Codi) Foster, Kali Weidner, Austin Owens, Wyatt Owens, and Levi Owens, She is also survived by a great-great-nephew, Parker Foster. She is also survived by a special uncle, Treeman (Eileen) Owens and a special aunt, Kathryn McMahon and by a loving caregiver, Shannon Smathers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Myrtle Tree Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Dudding officiating. Burial will follow in Bradshaw Cemetery, and visitation will be Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South Sixth Street, Ironton, Ohio.
