Point Pleasant Big Blacks (3-0) at Winfield Generals (2-2)

Last Week: Point Pleasant had Bye Week, won at Lewis County 14-13 in last game; Winfield 27-21 OT win vs. Riverside.

Last Meeting: 2007, Winfield won 17-13 at PPHS.

Current head-to-head streak: Winfield has won 1 straight. PPHS is 4-2 since 2002.

PPHS Offense Last Game: 170 rushing yards, 120 passing yards.

WHS Offense Last Week: 265 rushing yards, 209 passing yards.

Notes: After a four-year hiatus, the Big Blacks renew acquaintances with the Generals Friday night as PPHS ends a brutal three-game road trip. Point Pleasant will put a 14-game regular season winning streak on the line as it heads to WHS for the first time since 2006, a 21-20 win. In fact, PPHS won all three of its games at Winfield (2002 and 2004) during a six-year run from 2002 until 2007. The Generals trailed 21-0 early in the third quarter last week before rallying with 27 consecutive points to claim a come-from-behind overtime decision. Winfield had a plus-2 turnover differential and 26 first downs last week, compared to only 11 by Riverside. After starting the season with three straight road games, Winfield will now be in the middle of a three-game home stand this Friday. Point Pleasant has allowed just 15 points through three games this fall. The visiting team has won five of the last six meetings, including four straight from 2004 until 2007.

Wahama White Falcons (4-0, 3-0) at Waterford Wildcats (1-3, 1-2)

Last Week: Wahama 47-20 win vs. Belpre; Waterford 39-6 loss vs. Eastern.

Last Meeting: 2011, Wahama won 61-8 at Wahama.

Current head-to-head streak: Wahama has won 4 straight. Wahama 6-1 since 2002.

Wahama Offense Last Week: 420 rushing yards, 83 passing yards.

Waterford Offense Last Week: 79 rushing yards, 34 passing yards.

Wahama Offensive Leaders Last Week: RB Kane Roush (5-149, 2TD), QB Trenton Gibbs (3-7 83, TD), WR Wyatt Wooten (1-39).

Waterford Offensive Leaders Last Week: RB Austin Lang (4-13), QB Joe Pugh (4-8 34, 2INT), WR Austin Shriver (2-20).

Wahama Defense Last Week: 128 rushing yards, 217 passing yards.

Waterford Defense Last Week: 392 rushing yards, 96 passing yards.

Notes: Fresh off their 25th consecutive victory in regular season play, the White Falcons will look to improve to 20-0 alltime in TVC Hocking play this weekend at Waterford. Wahama — which hasn’t loss in the regular season since Week 10 of 2009 against Athens (36-20) — has scored 47 points in each of the last two contests and is also outscoring opponents by a 154-46 margin, although the Red and White did surrender a season-high 20 points last week to Belpre. The Wildcats won their season opener at Miller, but have dropped three straight since — including last week’s home opener against Eastern. Waterford has allowed 102 points in the last two weeks and a total of 132 in four games, and the offense has watched its point production drop from 34 to 14 to 13 to 6 over that same span. The Wildcats’ last win against Wahama came in the 2006 season opener at Waterford, a 12-0 decision. The White Falcons have outscored Waterford 150-42 in the four meetings since.
