GALLIPOLIS — One of two men suspected in the Jan. 8 burglary of a Gallipolis residence has been charged in Gallia County Common Pleas Court.
• James M. Leach, 29, Jackson, has been charged with one count of aggravated burglary for allegedly, by force, stealth, or deception, trespassing in the residence of Timothy Baker, when another person other than an accomplice of the offender is present, with purpose to commit therein a criminal offense, and the said Leach, inflicts, or attempts or threatens to inflict physical harm on Baker.
According to court records, Leach and a co-defendant allegedly forced entrance into Baker’s residence and assaulted him before depriving him of several unnamed items.
Leach pled not guilty to the charge and his bond was set at $25,000 ten percent secured along with an additional bond set at $1,000 ten percent secured.
His jury trial is scheduled for March 30 at 9 a.m.
Other indictments recently unsealed include:
• Jason Roach, 26, 375 Texas Road, Gallipolis, has been charged with one count of theft for allegedly possessing, using, or obtaining 3.5 Percocet pills on or about Aug. 26, 2007.
He pled not guilty to the charge and was released on his own recognizance under a $20,000 bond with an additional bond set at $1,000 ten percent secured.
His jury trial is scheduled for June 18 at 9 a.m.
• Joshua W. Rowe, 27, Racine, has been charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle for allegedly depriving John Paul Holley of a Cadillac and a Chrysler LeBaron on or about Aug. 28, 2008, without the permission of Holley, the owner of said property.
He pled not guilty and was released on his own recognizance under a $20,000 bond with an additional bond set at $1,000 ten percent secured.
His jury trial is scheduled for June 8 at 9 a.m.
• Kenneth M. Goody, Jr., 29, 159 Rand Ave., Gallipolis, has been charged with two counts of possession of drugs for allegedly obtaining, using, or possessing five 40-milligram Oxycontin pills and five 80-milligram Oxycontin pills on or about Jan. 18.
Goody pled not guilty to the charges and was released on his own recognizance under a $5,000 bond with an additional bond set at $1,000 ten percent secured.
His jury trial is scheduled for June 9 at 9 a.m.
