ASHTON, W.Va. — The Hannan volleyball team started the 2012 season on a down note Thursday night after dropping a 25-11, 25-14, 25-6 decision to visiting Belpre in a non-conference matchup in Mason County.
The host Lady ‘Cats (0-1) dropped all three games by at least 11 points, while the Lady Golden Eagles mustered their best effort of the night in the finale by posting a 19-point win to wrap up the 3-0 match decision.
Jasmine Weise led the Hannan service attack with four points, followed by Bekah Bush with three points. Tiffany Adkins and Heather Ellis both added two points apiece, with Adkins also recording the team’s lone ace of the night.
Ellis led the net attack with two kills, while Adkins and Wiese both added one kill each. Adkins and Anna Taylor added one block apiece in the setback. Weise had a team-high three assists and Ellis led the defense with four digs.
