Terry Brent Stephens, 56, of Gallipolis, entered Heaven’s gates at 12:26 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2012, in the Holzer Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends.
Born October 17, 1955, in Walnut Township of Gallia County, the son of the late Clarence and Dorothy Shepard Stephens, he was a retired logging contractor and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Terry loved the outdoors.
Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Cathy Elliott Stephens; a daughter, Jenni Stephens of Gallipolis; a son, Terry (Bridget) Stephens, Jr. of Chillicothe, Ohio; grandchildren, Gage Stephens, Jacey Stephens, Colt Stephens, Madison Brown and Braylin Skidmore; a sister, Cathy (Ralph) Barcus, Gallipolis; four brothers, Tom Stephens of Wilksville, Ohio, Russell (Mary) Stephens of South Webster, Ohio, Daryl (Sandra) Stephens of Patriot and Craig (Susan) Stephens of Highland Heights, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William Stephens, Johnny Stephens, Timmy Stephens and Tony Stephens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Cremeens Funeral Chapel. In keeping with Terry’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation will follow visitation and burial will be in the Flagsprings Cemetery near Waterloo.
