Lucille Helen Hurt, 88, Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012, in Overbrook Center, Middleport, Ohio. She was a loving wife, mother and Mamaw. In addition, she was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Harrisburg, where she had served as Deaconess and Sunday School Superintendent. Mrs. Hurt was born February 17, 1924, in Gallipolis, daughter of the late George Jenkins and Martha Jane Westbrook Jenkins. She married Ilo Hurt May 22, 1942, at Rio Grande, Ohio, and he preceded her in death January 19, 1986.

Surviving are son, Ivan Hurt, Bidwell, and daughter, Jackie (Bill) Howard, Bidwell, and four grandchildren, Ivan Hurt, Jr., Brad Hurt, Andy Howard and Diane (Jaime) Jordan; ten great-grandchildren, Corey Law, Cameron McCoy, Maddison, Morgan, Taylor and Jadein Howard, Arianna and Aleesha Jordan, Kimberly Hurt and Ivy Burnett; one great-great-grandchild, Tristen Hardy and one sister, Maxine (Eugene) Smith, Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to her husband, Ilo, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kimberly Hurt; brothers, Harrison “Snooky” Westbrook, Richard, Otis and Carl Jenkins and sister, Georgianna Freeman.

Services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 26, 2012, at New Hope Baptist Church, Harrisburg, followed by burial. Rev. Calvin Minnis and Rev. Arius Hurt will officiate. Visitation will be at New Hope Baptist Church from 2-3 p.m. prior to the services on Sunday.
