The Gallipolis leg of Ohio Chautauqua 2012 wrapped up on Saturday evening in the Gallipolis City Park. In its fourth stop in Gallipolis since 2006, Ohio Chautauqua featured five scholar/actors who performed nightly as characters who helped to shape Ohio during its days as the Western Frontier. Performing on Thursday was Marvin Jefferson as York, pictured, who played an intergral role in the Lewis and Clark expedition. Also appearing this past week were Margaret Blennerhassett, Oliver Hazard Perry, Chief John Logan and Johnny Appleseed. Ohio Chautauqua is sponsored annually by the Ohio Humanities Council.
