John Westlake, age 88, of Thurman, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday, June 25, 2012, at his home.
He was born July 23, 1923, in Jackson County, Ohio, to the late Coxey and Cora Johnson Westlake. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was an active member of Victory Grange and past members of the B.P.O.E. and the Eagles.
He is survived by two sisters, Loreta K. Rupert and Glenna M. Todd, both of Chillicothe, Ohio; nieces and nephews, John Rupert of Thurman, Ohio, Roberta Rupert of Xenia, Ohio, Wilma Liebe of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Zelma Leach of Chillicothe, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly E. Erickson Westlake; and an infant brother.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Fairmount Cemetery with Pastor John Rosenwick officiating.
