GALLIPOLIS — This Friday, March 9, at 6 p.m. the Dr. Samuel L. Bossard Memorial Library will host a Book Launch Party to celebrate the latest novel from local author Bryna Butler. Her book, entitled Midnight Child, is the third installment in Butler’s Midnight Guardian young adult paranormal book series which sells on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple iBooks and other major online bookstores.
For the party, the Library’s Switzer Room will be transformed as guests are invited to step “across the barrier” into the banished land of endless midnight from the books. Readings from chapter one will be presented by series fans; Alexandrea Brumfield, Gallia Academy sophomore; Shannan Kimes, Busy Bees & Book Worms Book Club; and Doris Roberts, Franklin Gang of Jackson, Ohio.
Light refreshments will be served and guests will get a peek and be able to reach out and touch a “captive coil”, an actual working mini tornado demonstration. Plenty of giveaways are planned for Midnight Guardian series merchandise and books.
Butler will be on hand to sign books. All three books in the series will be available for sale.
The third book, Midnight Child, asks readers to join teen heroine Keira Ryan as she chases her destiny as a guardian, a paranormal being from which the legend of the tooth fairy was based. Butler’s teen paranormal romance novels feature strong female leads and are woven from elements of horror, suspense, mystery, and a hint of comedy. The small towns of southeastern Ohio inspired the unnamed rural, river town that serves as the setting of the story.
Butler will also be on hand to sign copies of the new book before the midnight premiere of The Hunger Games at Silver Screen VII. Lineup starts at 10 p.m. on March 22.
Midnight Child is currently available in paperback, kindle, nook, and other e-book editions. Copies are also available for borrowing at Bossard Library. Of Sun & Moon (Book 1) and Whispering Evil (Book 2) are currently available through major online retailers. Additionally, Butler notes that Book 4, Shadows Rising, is tentatively slated for release this Fall.
