Janice Johnson, 75, of Vinton, passed away at her home Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, following an extended illness.

She was born June 14, 1933, in Gilbert, W.Va., daughter of the late Avil and Emmy Cline Harvey.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Johnson; one son, Mike (Pauline) Marcum of Bidwell; three daughters, Sandra (Kenny) DePue of Vinton, Mary Oiler of Vinton, and Vickie Fitzwater of Bidwell; four grandchildren, James Shannon Marcum of Texas, Kelly Allen Marcum of Nelsonville, Kenny Ray Marcum of Vinton, and Matthew Jason DePue of Vinton; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers and three sisters, Adril (Karen) Harvey of Columbus, Conny (Rose) Harvey of Kerr, Eileen (Hubert) Marcum of Columbus, Sue Harvey of Columbus, and Hazel Trent of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Sue Marcum; grandson, Eric Marcum; granddaughter, Latisha Marcum; an infant great-granddaughter; a brother, Avil “Bud” Harvey; and a sister, Juanita Leasure.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home in Vinton, with Pastor Robert Hersman officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m.
