VINTON — The the Field of Hope Community Campus (FOHCC) is seeking input from the community for the future use of the former North Gallia High School.

The meeting will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. on November 10 at Vinton Baptist Church, 1818 Ohio 160, and, according to FOHCC Team Leader Kevin Dennis, community members are invited to attend and provide input for the best use of the building and grounds of the campus located between Vinton and Bidwell — a use that would give a benefit to the community.

FOHCC is a non-profit, faith-based organization that has worked to clean the grounds of the former school campus and to turn the facility into a food pantry, as well as center for youth rehabilitation center and 24-hour drug rehabilitation.

Reportedly, FOHCC has applied for funding through the Environmental Protection Agenciy Brownfield Cleanup Grant program for funds to address the buildings and property cleanup needs prior to revitilization.

According to Dennis, FOHCC has successfully completed Phase one and Phase two of the Brownfield assessment work.

The agenda of the November 10 meeting includes a short walking tour of the campus, as well as a light meal and a brainstorming session.

Those that can attend are encouraged to call Linda Angles at (740) 388-8454 or email at linda@vintonbatist.com.
