The Ohio Valley Publishing area landed a total of 11 people on the 2011 all-district golf teams this fall, as voted on by the coaches in southeastern Ohio.
Ten golfers and one coach were selected to the list, with Gallia Academy leading that charge with five honorees. Meigs and Southern each had two selections, while South Gallia and Eastern each came away with one honoree.
The Blue Devils, who went unbeaten in SEOAL play while posting a 92-3 overall record this season, came away with both player and coach of the year honors in Division II boys.
Corey Luce was named the top coach in the area, while senior Nick Saunders earned district player of the year accolades. Luce and Saunders were also the coach and player of the year in the SEOAL.
Senior Boeing Smith and junior Rob Canady both earned second team honors, while senior Corey Arthur was an honorable mention selection in Division II.
Meigs junior Treay McKinney was also an honorable mention pick in Division II boys, while junior Alyssa Cremeans was came away with honorable mention honors in Division II girls. Cremeans, who led the Lady Marauders to an unbeaten regular season, was the lone female selected from the OVP area.
Eastern senior Christian Amsbary won first team honors in Division III boys, while South Gallia senior David Michael was a D-3 honorable mention selection.
The Southern duo of junior Adam Pape and freshman Jacob Hoback were second team and honorable mention honorees in D-3 boys, respectively.
