GALLIPOLIS — A Thurman man who failed to appear for an arraignment by summons in June, was recently arrested and appeared in the Gallia County Common Pleas Court on a charge of breaking and entering.
Larry K. Ratcliff, 53, pleaded not guilty to one count of breaking and entering on Friday after he allegedly broke into a building or outbuilding located on Ball Run Road in Bidwell on or about Jan. 25, 2011.
Ratcliff had been issued a summons to appear for an arraignment on June 1, 2011, in the common pleas court and, after failing to appear in court, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
According to the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office website, Ratcliff was arrested on Oct. 20 by a deputy with the sheriff’s office.
During his arraignment, Ratcliff’s bond was set at $5,000 own recognizance with an additional bond of $1,500, 10 percent secured.
The defendant is scheduled to appear in the common pleas court on Feb. 29 for a jury trial. A negotiated plea agreement in this case may be filed by Feb. 1.
