James Richard ‘Jim’ Denney, age 45, of Bidwell, died Sunday evening October 9, 2011, at Holzer Medical Center. Born October 4, 1966, in Gallia County, he was the son of the late James Denney and Barbara Ross Denney of Columbus.

Jim was an union ironworker, a member of the Masonic Lodge and was an avid hunter.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Ross Denney of Columbus; wife, Susan Thompson Denney of Bidwell; four children, Candace Denney of Gallipolis, Jessie Cox of Addison, Charles (Stacey) Cox of Gallipolis and Jacob Cox of Oak Hill; two Grandchildren, Blake Whitt and Cali French; one brother, Russell Denney of Columbus; and one sister, Patty Allen of Columbus.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday October 14, 2011, at Campaign Cemetery with Rev. Michael Thompson officiating. Friends may call at Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Friday from 1-2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Charles Cox, Jacob Cox, Michael Shato, Bub Thompson, Dewey Roberts and Jared Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be L.T. Theiss and Jeff Cox.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to the family to help with expenses.
