GALLIPOLIS — Members of the Gallipolis City Board of Education resolved the issue concerning use of a volunteer discussed during a special meeting at its regular meeting Wednesday.

During the special meeting on Oct. 2, representatives from the Gallipolis Educational Association disputed the approval of a parent volunteer as senior student activities at Gallia Academy High School for the 2008-09 school year.

The position’s duties include coordinating the election of class officers as well as helping the senior class choose a song, motto and flower for graduation.

During last night’s meeting, the board reported that the situation has been fixed. Principal Bruce Wilson has addressed the election of class officers, and the process will begin in early November.

Additional details from the meeting will appear in a later edition of the Tribune.
