BIDWELL — The River Valley football staff will be holding a youth football camp for kids entering grades second through eighth on July 15 through July 17 at the River Valley Middle School in Bidwell.
The cost of the camp is $25 per camper if registered before July 11, and $35 per camper if registered on July 15. The three-day camp will be conducted from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Each participant will receive fundamental offensive and defensive instruction and will also receive a t-shirt.

Southern Basketball Golf Scramble set
RACINE — The Southern Basketball program will host a four-man golf scramble on Aug. 2 at Riverside Golf Club in Mason, W.Va.
The scramble will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, and the format is “bring your own” team. Only one player with an under-10 handicap is allowed per team with a total team handicap of 40 or above.
The cost will be $60 per person ($240 per team) with optional cash pot, skins, and mulligan for purchase. Prizes of first, second, and third place finishes will be awarded. Softball tournament set
CHESTER — A Days of Glory Co-Ed Softball Tournament has been set for Aug. 8 through 10 at the Chester Ball Fields with all proceeds to benefit the Chester Ball Association and the Angela Eason Memorial fields.
The charge is $100 a team plus 2-12 inch 44 core balls. This is slow pitch, five male and five female on the field at all times, men bat opposite hands, ages 21 and older, and slow pitch bats only with double elimination, one hour games.

On Aug. 9 there will be a hog roast dinner at $6 per person, a home run derby at $5 per person with 50 percent of the proceeds going for first, second and third place prizes, and a variety of door prizes.
Southern volleyball camp set
RACINE — The Southern Volleyball Youth Camp for all girls entering fifth through eighth grades in the fall will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, July 14-16 at Southern High School. The cost is $25 per student if pre-registered by July 7 and $30 per student if registered the day of the camp. A camp T-shirt is included in the price. EHS fall sports athletic packets
TUPPERS PLAINS — Athletic packets for the 2008 fall sports season are currently available at Eastern High School. Packets can be picked up in the office from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
All student-athletes in 7th through 12th grade who wish to participate in cheerleading, football, golf, cross country, or volleyball must complete the packet with a parent in order to be eligible to play a sport in the fall. Additionally, all student-athletes must have a physical completed and turned in in order to participate.

GALLIPOLIS — The Gallia Academy wrestling team will be holding open mat sessions on Mondays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for high school, junior high, and youth league wrestlers. Sessions will be held at the home of the Gallipolis Youth League wrestling team on Highway 141.

CHESHIRE — River Valley will be hosting a youth volleyball camp Monday through Wednesday at the high school.
Grades 3-5 will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. and grades 6-8 will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Participants will receive instruction from the River Valley volleyball coaches and players on the fundamentals of the sport. Cost is $30 and includes a t-shirt and volleyabll.
Registration will be held Monday, July 7 at 5 p.m. for grades 3-5 and at 6:30 p.m. for grades 6-8.

OU baseball camps
ATHENS — The Ohio University baseball program will be hosting two prospect camps this summer and fall for 2009, 2010, and 2011 high school graduates. The first camp will be held August 23, and the second is scheduled for October 4.
The camps will give student-athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of college coaches from all divisions and professional scouts from Ohio and its surrounding areas. The Ohio University baseball staff will also be present to observe camp participants.
Each camp will begin with registration at 8 a.m. at Bob Wren Stadium and conclude at approximately 6:30 p.m. There will be a limit of 72 student-athletes per camp, so pre-registration is encouraged to ensure a participant’s place. Cost is $205 per camper and includes lunch and a T-shirt.

BBYFL sign-ups in July
The Big Bend Youth Football League will be holding football and cheerleading sign-ups every Saturday in July for any area youth from Ohio or West Virginia interested in participating.
Sign-ups will be held at the Veterans Memorial Stadium in Middleport from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Rotary Golf Tourney
POINT PLEASANT — The Rotary Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, July 10 at 1 p.m. with a team meeting and lunch starting at noon.
There will be a sponsor fee that entitles the sponsor to four players and covers all cart and green fees as well as food and drinks. Team selections will be done by drawing with A, B, C and D players.
Clubhouse credits will be awarded as prizes for the top three finishers.
